Seminar in Pryluky Confinement Facility for Juveniles

On the 07 of November 2013 a seminar on Evidence Based Prevention took place in the premises of Pryluky Confinement Facility for Juveniles. Among participants of the event there were psychologists and social teachers of the Facility, as well representatives from the Chernihiv Pedagogical University, Law College, NGO “Aratta” and USA Embassy in Ukraine. The agenda included presentations on Theory of Prevention and Evidence Based Prevention Experience in Chernihiv. The participants also took part in the game “Take a Guess”, a component of the Prevention Program “Choice”.

The pre survey showed that half of the respondents believed in a proposition control as the main strategy for drug abuse prevention, while during the post survey just 20 % of them believed so and 80 % of the participants considered prevention programs as the main prevention strategy. Half of the respondents expressed their readiness to conduct prevention programs.

A tour for guests was arranged. The event was supported by the USA Embassy in Ukraine.
